Michelle1 describes how being a 'good enough' mother is helpful.
Transcript
And I was admonished for saying that I want to be the perfect mother for my son because trying to be perfect is just going to make him into a perfectionist. You know, he’s never going to achieve what I want him to, but also it puts undo pressure onto me. First of all it doesn’t exist, the perfect mother doesn’t exist because it’s all about doing what you think is best but is it empirically best, who knows? Being the good enough mother though, trying your best, loving your child, researching but not to a crazy extent, making the choices you think are appropriate, that’s where you raise a healthy bonded child.
